Call for applications: Youth delegates to the UN General Assembly 2026

Are you passionate about international politics and want to strengthen young voices in the United Nations? Then apply now for the Youth Delegate Programme to the UN General Assembly!

The Youth Delegates Programme to the UN General Assembly is supported by the German United Nations Association (DGVN) and the German National Committee for International Youth Work (DNK). The aim is to give young people in Germany a platform to make their perspectives visible at international level and to advocate for more youth participation at the United Nations.

Participation in the Youth Delegates to the UN General Assembly programme is a challenging voluntary position with many opportunities for personal development. The programme follows a junior/senior principle, which means that there is always an experienced person and a new person in this role who work together as a team.

With the Germany tour, the delegates independently engage nationwide to impart knowledge about the UN and global issues to young people in interactive workshops. They take part in the UN General Assembly in New York and bring the concerns of young people directly to the 3rd Committee of the UN General Assembly, which deals with social, humanitarian and human rights issues. The programme also includes work shadowing in ministries, networking meetings with international partners and cooperation with full-time staff and volunteers.
